Mya Rasar
How long have you been working for BTTS and what is your role?
I got my first paycheck for BTTS in 2015 but I would definitely say I have been working for BTTS since I was 7 years old! I have vivid memories of putting a dance floor together at Brookshire and getting yelled at for putting linens on wrong haha! My current role is Senior Sales Consultant at Fiori!
What was your first role in the events industry if this is not your first?
My first role was a dishwasher for Gourmet Fresh!
What is something people might be surprised to know about the day to day of your job?
I talk to every single BTTS client & also all of our outside inquiries! It is definitely rare to see my inbox empty but I really love getting to connect with all the clients at all the venues! If you knew me 3 years ago at Fiori I would have told you I will never deal with clients and never be client facing so seeing my growth from that mind-set to a Senior Sales Consultant has definitely been a journey!
What does BTTS mean to you?
BTTS to me is a family saying that I even have a tattoo of! We always grew up saying I love you Bigger Than The Sky and to see that saying flourish into a company that is truly Bigger Than The Sky is a journey I am so grateful to be a part of.
What is something you'd currently recommend?
I would recommend reminding yourself that you have free will! :) I feel like that sounds funny but I think sometimes we really get caught in the day to day, mundane things of life while there is something we wish we could do or dream of doing. I would definitely recommend following your heart and really doing everything you can to make that dream a reality!
What is your go-to karaoke song?
Wannabe by the Spice Girls!!
What has been a highlight of your year so far?
As most of you know I currently live in Mexico and have a boyfriend who is from Mexico. In April, he had an appointment for a visa to come to the United States, and after a lot of prayer and God’s favor & will, he was approved! We are so excited to come to Ohio together in July and November! :)
